If you are excited by the mission of the Seattle Public Library, then the Library invites you to join its public service team.

THE CONTINUOUS RECRUITMENT PROCESS (CRP)
The Library accepts applications and resumes for Page, Library Associate I & II, and Librarian (Adult Services, Young Adult and Children) positions on a continuous basis. Candidates who submit an application and pass the initial screening process will be invited to a pre-qualifying interview within 30 days of receipt of their application materials. Those candidates who pre-qualify for consideration for a specific classification will be notified when a vacancy occurs.

Aug. 20, 2003 Notice: Citywide hiring freeze. See Current Openings page.

THE TRADITIONAL RECRUITMENT PROCESS
For position vacancies that are not filled under the CRP (Branch Manager, IT, Administration, Custodial, etc.) the Library will only process those applications that are submitted in response to a specific job bulletin posted on this website. Most job bulletins, will request that applicants submit only a resume and cover letter for the initial application phase. Please check the "To Apply" section of the job bulletin for information on how to apply.

THE APPLICATION PROCESS
Unless otherwise noted, a Seattle Public Library (SPL) employment application is required in order to be considered for any vacant position. SPL employment applications (and important information materials) can be obtained:
